We are looking for 250 secondary schools, colleges or community groups to collaborate with us on cutting-edge genetic research.
Perfect for A-Level Biology classes or equivalent, The Microverse aims to discover and better understand microorganisms that survive in extreme urban environments.
The project explores buildings as habitats where microorganisms have little access to nutrients, experience both wet and dry conditions, and can be exposed to high levels of pollution.
Groups will collect microorganisms from a local building and send them to the museum for DNA analysis. Once the samples are analysed, a results report will be sent back for students to interpret in the classroom.

The Microverse project supports AQA, Edexcel and OCR A-Level Biology specifications by exploring topics such as taxonomy, genetics and diversity.
