People: careers

People take diverse routes into scientific careers. These routes vary depending on when you decide to pursue science and in which area of science you wish to work.

The traditional route is to get a university degree, followed by further study in an academic institution. Some of our scientists got into research work that way.

There are a variety of other routes too, through volunteering and working in conservation organisations.
