Whether they are investigating the beasts of Bodmin Moor or studying common daisies, Museum scientists use specimens from the collections for comparison. This work is known as classification. It makes up much of the main scientific work of the Museum and is part of the science known as systematics. The Museum produces descriptive lists of plants, animals and minerals used all over the world to help researchers understand their natural environment and the plants and animals that make it up. |
