Erythromma viridulum larva
The small red-eyed damselfly is currently expanding its range in northwest Europe, apparently in response to climate warming, and is the first species of dragonfly to have colonised Britain since records began 300 years ago.
In southern and eastern England it is now often the commonest species in many large, weed-rich lakes.
