Lookalikes
Larger flowers of Prunus speciosa 3.5 - 4 cm in diameter.
Several species are similar to P. serrulata.
- P. speciosa (Oshima cherry) and P. sargentii (Sargent’s cherry) have larger flowers (3.5-4cm diameter).
- P. incisa (Fuji cherry) has leaves hairy on both surfaces. The petiole is also hairy.
- P. x subhirtella (Spring cherry) and P. x yedoensis (Yoshima cherry) are hairy on the lower leaf surface and petiole.
