Agalma elegans occurs in temperate and semi-tropical waters worldwide, in the following oceans:
It is most commonly collected over continental shelves.
It usually lives in the water column below the surface, at depths down to 400m.
No conservation measures have yet been introduced to conserve this or any other siphonophore species found in UK waters.
