Distribution

Trama troglodytes is common through most of Europe and occurs across Asia, to Japan.

It feeds on the roots of numerous species of composite plants in a wide variety of situations and soil types.

All it needs are the ant colonies that are vital to its survival.

Trama can be spotted easily on the roots of plants commonly found on roadside verges and waste ground such as yarrow, mugwort and creeping thistle.
