Bristly millipede, Polyxenus lagurus

This tiny creature, only a couple of millimetres long, differs from all other millipedes as it is covered with tufts of bristly hairs. 

You are more likely to see it in the southern counties of the UK. It can be found on tree trunks if dry, and under ivy and dead bark. They are sometimes found crawling the walls in homes, probably because the outside walls provide good grazing for them - they feed on algae.
