The spotted snake millipede is creamy yellow with red spots down the sides of its body, and is around 15mm long when fully grown.
Although this species is seen less often than the black millipedes, it is the most common species in cultivated soils.
It generally feeds on decaying plant matter but can sometimes cause damage to potato and cereal crops.
