Native to Africa, this species of sheildbug is a recent coloniser of the UK and has been recorded across several sites in southern Britain since 2003. Imported in food produce, this bug can has been spotted on various crops including tomatoes and legumes, and can cause damage if in large numbers. Not to be confused with the common green sheildbug, the adult of this species is larger (around 10mm) and has 3-5 white spots on its back, with 2 small dark marks on either side of the spots.
