Pacific Kauri pine, Agathis macrophylla
Agathiphaga vitiensis is distributed throughout the north eastern range of Kauri pines, from Fiji in the east to the Solomon Island in the north east.
Remarkably, Agathiphaga species are not known from New Zealand, Malaysia or, in particular, Borneo where Kauri pines also occur.
Species of Agathiphaga have only rarely been observed in nature, so their exact habitat preferences are unknown. But we can assume they are closely tied to forests with stands of Kauri pines.
