Welwitschia mirabilis - this species is of great economic importance as a tourist attraction
Welwitschia mirabilis is endemic to Namibia and southern Angola.
This plant is relatively common within its habitat and is well protected in its native range.
It is listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), but is unlikely to be traded from the wild, apart from for its seeds.
