Habitat

In Britain, the principal remaining strongholds for the great yellow bumblebee, Bombus distinguendus, are in the Scottish machair grassland:

In Europe, habitats are primarily flower-rich grassland.  In Asia, the bee also occurs on the edge of semi-arid areas (for example, in Inner Mongolia).
