Drinker moth caterpillars are very colourful and quite hairy. Their name derives from the fact that they seem to enjoy drops of dew.
As they get closer to pupation, the caterpillar looses much of its colour and hair and gets darker.
The moth that emerges is sexually dimorphic, meaning that females and males look different. Females are more yellow, while males are an orange-brown shade.
