This common European species is not native to the UK but is often found here, having been transported on imports such as fruit, vegetables and even furniture.
It is typically a yellowish-grey colour, with up to 15 pairs of legs.
Outdoors, they are found under rocks, logs and compost heaps. They are also frequently found in homes, especially in the spring.
