Biscuit beetle, Stegobium paniceum

Also known as the drugstore or bread beetle, the adult of this species is around 3mm in length and reddish-brown with grooves running down its wing cases. Its small, white larvae feed on a wide variety of products including packaged foods, pills, leather and books. These creatures while harmless to humans can be a pest so to be safe put dried food in sealed containers and use an approved insecticide if an infestation occurs.
