Golden spider beetle, Niptus hololeucus

This beetle is less than 5mm long and has a brown body covered in golden hair. While they are harmless to humans they are scavengers, attacking grain or cereal stores and feeding on dead organic matter including fabrics. Active between June and November, insecticides will help control these pests but the best way to eradiated them is to find and remove the infestation.
