Scarlet tiger moth, Callimorpha dominula
The scarlet tiger moth is a large, day-flying species found in Southern Britain. Its forewings are shiny black with yellow and white blotches while its hindwings are mostly red. This moth flies day and night, and can be spotted in damp areas like marshes, fens and river banks in late Spring.
