Distribution and habitat

Agrias claudina has been recorded in

  • the forests of tropical South America
  • the Andean countries such as
    • Venezuela
    • Colombia
    • Peru
    • Ecuador
    • Bolivia
  • Brazil


This species is not uncommon.
The genus Agrias ranges from Mexico to the Amazonian basin.

Habitat

This species is found in primary and secondary rainforest at altitudes between about 200-1000 metres above sea level. However there is a record at 1200masl (Neild 1996).
