The larvae of this moth feed on organic material in our homes, including woollen carpets and clothes made from natural fibres. Like the caterpillars on your veg it is the larvae that do the damage not the moths. They make a case to protect themselves from the fibres of the material they are feeding on, so they will take on the colour of the carpets or rugs themselves. They usually live and feed in those neglected corners or beneath furniture that is not often moved. Prolific vacuuming and a proprietary insecticide should eradicate them, and vacuum up any adult moths you see. You can also buy pheromone traps for this species from well stocked hardware stores.
