Conservation

As many Neotropical species, this species has not been assessed globally on its conservation status using the IUCN red list criteria.

However, at regional scale the Brazilian Red list has reported this species as Vulnerable and under threat in areas such as Matto Grosso. However, it is possible this species would be under threat due to the extensive logging of forests in South America, mainly in the Brazilian forest in where conversion to small-scale permanent agriculture is main cause of forest area change (FAO 2009).
