This bryozoan forms bushy flexible colonies that are 6–20cm in height and light grey-brown in colour.
The colony is bilaminar, flexible and divides into broad branch-like fronds.
Short thick spines (4–5) are arranged around the edge of each autozooid, which is roughly rectangular in shape (0.4 by 0.28mm). The polypide has 13–14 tentacles.
