Biology

Its biology is unknown, but its relatives are parasitoids, mostly of wood-boring beetle larvae.

The adult female uses her ovipositor to reach the concealed host, paralyse it with venom, and then lay an egg on it.

Parasitoids spend part of their life as parasites of a host insect, but ultimately always kill that host. Hosts of parasitic wasps are typically larvae of other insects, though some attack host eggs, pupae or adults.

Size

13mm long, the ovipositor and additional 11mm.
