Reproduction
Like all species of Solanum, Solanum aculeastrum is pollinated by bees. When the pollen inside the anthers is ripe, a hole opens at the top of each anther. A bee lands on the anthers and buzzes making the pollen shoot out of the holes; the bee collects the pollen to be used as food but some of it is transferred to other plants.
Dispersal
The fruit of S. aculeastrum is sweet and eaten by elephants and cattle, which are likely to act as dispersal agents.
