Solanum dulcamara flowers are pollinated by bumblebees.
The bees ‘buzz’ the flowers with their indirect flight muscles. This sets up a vibration that sends pollen squirting out onto the body. The pollen is then transferred to other flowers.
The buzz is usually quite audible and can be observed in gardens. Bees use the pollen to feed their larvae.
