Distribution

Syzygium aromaticum is found in:

  • Brazil
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Jamaica
  • Philippines
  • Sumatra
  • the West Indies
  • Zanzibar
  • other tropical countries  

Habitat

The plant grows well in rich, loamy soil with high humus content. It also grows well near the sea in open sandy loam and laterite soil, and at altitudes from sea level to 600m.
