The small copper butterfly is recognizable by its bright red-brown coloured forewings. It is a fast flying species that enjoys sunlight and open land, and is active throughout the summer months. Examples of plants it feeds on are Buttercups, Daisies, and Dandelions. A common species worldwide, it is found in Britain, Europe, Asia, North America, and parts of Africa. Wingspan ranges from 26-36 mm.
